Scope and ContentTaken from Drs. Mead, Crow, and Lower, the "Erle of Chesterfield" and "out of my Aunt Bromfield's book" etc. With a summary of the history of the Jews from the time of Abraham to the time of Herod the Great, in a different hand.
On first page is the inscription: "Bucknill, October 1659."
Various names are mentioned, such as ‘Out of my Aunt Bromfeilds book’, 'Aunt Stevens' and 'Cousin Stephens', ‘Lady Ashby’, ‘my sister’, ‘Edward Harley’, ‘Mrd. France, Lady Diana’s Woman’, ‘Dr. Keeth’ who attended Mr. and Mrs. Hutchins. Inserted is a prescription in his hand-writing ‘The Stomachick Wine for Mrs. Hutchens’, initialled and dated Sept. 15. 1718.
Among the prescriptions and receipts may be mentioned Lady Killegrews medicine for a sore brest that never fails to kure. An exelent eye water taight by Mr. Hepkins, Powder to help delivery, Earle of Chesterfield’s Almond milk, Elixir properties of Goosebery vinegar.
